Simple Valentine’s Day Ideas For Kids

in Family, Featured, Projects on 02/07/19

I love doing sweet little things for the kids on holidays. Here are a few simple Valentine’s Day ideas to make your kids feel special! Holidays don’t have to be extravagant “Pinterest-Worthy” events, but it is fun to celebrate with your kids in a way that fits your family!

I have always been the kind of mom who wants to do the most fun ideas with the least amount of work! Having four kids can do that. However, I want my kids to be excited about holidays! That’s why I love doing simple things that make the day feel a little different/special!

Re-Play gifted me these white plates in exchange for a fun valentine’s day post.

My favorite way to “celebrate” each holiday is to use cookie cutters! For this simple Valentine’s Day breakfast, I used a heart cookie cutter on the kids’ blueberry pancakes! On Halloween, I used our pumpkin cookie cutter on their PB&J sandwiches.

This is seriously the easiest way to add a special twist on a holiday meal and my kids think it’s SO fun! Let them help with it or keep it a surprise for when you call them to the table!

In keeping with the food theme… Put out colored plates or colored foods! Strawberries, dried cranberries, and blueberries are great for V-Day! For the month of February, Re-Play has all of their PINK plates on sale. Holiday themed, colored plates are simple and fun!

Another way to celebrate in a simple way is to dress in fun colors! We try to wear that holiday’s associated colors as a family or find fun leggings/PJ’s to wear!

Google/Pinterest can also be your friend! Find free printable to have your kids color instead of doing detailed crafts that toddlers only sit through 7.5 seconds of.

Lastly, write love notes to your kids and tell them all the things you admire about them. Encourage them to do the same to you or to another member of the family!

I hope this helps you include a few simple Valentine’s Day ideas into your holiday this year!

Here’s a quick list to help you remember:

  1. Use Heart Shaped cookie cutters for pancakes or PB&J’s
  2. Use Valentine’s colored plates or colored food for meals!
  3. Have Everyone Dress in holiday colors
  4. Print off FREE Valentine’s Day coloring pages
  5. Write love notes to one another!

happy valentine’s day!
